The chemical that makes up baking powder are Cream of Tartar and Baking soda. (Cream of Tartar technically known as potassium hydrogen.)
-In this case, Baking soda is a base and cream of tartar is an acid.
-If it mixes together it make a color of green kind of like wasabi.

3. Describe the process you used to determine the unknown substance.

The process I used to determine the unknown substance was I use the indicator to see the color of it then I check it with the results table as you see on the left-hand side. The unknown substance was Baking Soda cause the color of it was kind of like blue.
The chemical that makes up a baking powder is a mixture of Cream of Tartar and Baking soda. We know the chemical that makes up baking powder by using indicator. We use four plastic trays and in each tray, we put difference powder in.
First tray = Baking powder + Corn starch
Second tray = Cream of Tartar + Corn starch
Third tray = Cream of Tartar + Baking soda
Fourth tray = Baking soda only
Then we put an indicator in, in each tray we put about 3-6 drops. We observe it by the color of each tray. The color of each tray was
First tray = Dark Blue
Second tray = Kind of like orange mix with red
Third tray = Green + Blue = Green (kind of like wasabi)
Fourth tray = Green
The color of the third tray and the fourth tray were the same so we this was one clue that Cream of Tartar and Baking soda was the chemical that makes up baking powder. But then we still not sure, so Miumiu, Fourth and I use vinegar to check again in each mixture. The result was correct, The two chemical that makes up baking powder were Cream of Tartar + Baking soda.
The color of the third tray and the fourth tray were the same so we this was one clue that Cream of Tartar and Baking soda was the chemical that makes up baking powder.
